Louisville, KY — Today, Charles Booker, the Kentucky U.S. Senate candidate running to replace Mitch McConnell, released his closing primary ad, “You. I’m Fighting for You!”, an honest message to Kentuckians tired of rising costs, broken politics, endless war, and leaders who have left working people behind.

The ad opens with a simple question: “Charles, why are you running again?” Booker’s answer is even simpler: “You. I’m fighting for you. I’m fighting for all of you.”

With the May 19 Democratic primary entering its final stretch, Booker remains the clear front-runner. The latest independent poll shows him leading by 18 points, with 36% support to Amy McGrath’s 18%, as his lead has expanded while other candidates have stalled or slipped.

The closing ad makes the central argument of Booker’s campaign: Kentucky should not be written off, this open Senate race is winnable, and the people who have been ignored, squeezed by rising costs, and counted out by politics are the very people who can flip this seat, regardless of party affiliation.

The ad also underscores Booker’s broader message: Kentuckians are feeling the same pressure at the grocery store, at the gas pump, in the doctor’s office, at work, and around the kitchen table. Booker is building a broad working-class coalition needed to compete statewide and win.

“I’m running because people across Kentucky are tired of being stepped on, ignored, and told what we cannot win,” said Charles Booker. “This campaign is about you. It is about families struggling with rising costs, workers demanding stronger unions, teachers fighting for our children, farmers, seniors, young people, and people across party lines who are ready for something different. They can call us radical, but fighting for family is not radical. Fighting for a better future is not radical. Every Kentuckian deserves a vote that counts and a representative who answers to them. Kentucky is open, and this seat is winnable.”

Question: Okay, so Charles, why are you running again?

Booker: You.

I’m fighting for you. I’m fighting for all of you.

I’m running because puppet politicians have stomped on us for long enough.

And family, because of all the work we’ve done together over the years, we’re ready to win this fight.

For Medicare for All.

For groceries we can afford.

For our children, our teachers, stronger unions.

Now they call us radical.

And I’ve been all across Kentucky.

And what I know is fighting to put an end to corruption in Washington, an end to rising costs we can’t afford, and an end to sending our loved ones into endless war.

That ain’t radical.

My granddad taught me that you fight for family. We are family.

And what we know is when we fight back, we win.
