Louisville, KY — Today, the Charles Booker for U.S. Senate campaign announced the endorsement of SEIU 32BJ of Kentucky, the largest property service workers union in the country, ahead of the May 19 Democratic primary. SEIU 32BJ represents janitors, security officers, maintenance workers, airport workers, and other essential workers across the Commonwealth.
SEIU 32BJ joins a growing list of unions and labor organizations backing Charles Booker’s candidacy, showing clear momentum for Booker in the final days of the primary.
“I am honored to have the endorsement of SEIU 32BJ of Kentucky,” said Charles Booker. “32BJ members are the people who keep Kentucky running. They steward our buildings, secure our communities, and care for our neighbors, and they deserve a Senator who will fight for them every single day. That is exactly what I intend to do. Together, we are going to raise wages, strengthen unions, and build a Kentucky that works for all of us, from the hood to the holler.”
Booker’s Working People’s Bill of Rights includes his 40x40x45 plan, which guarantees every full-time worker a minimum $45,000 salary, 40 hours of paid sick leave, and a 40-hour work week, alongside expanded collective bargaining rights, Medicare for All, and a Cost of Living Tax Exemption.
Booker has also earned the support of other unions, including CWA locals in Kentucky, LiUNA, United Steelworkers Local 14581, United Steelworkers District 8, and IUE-CWA Local 83761.
Kentucky Democrats head to the polls on Tuesday, May 19.
